Senate President Bukola Saraki has said that his party, the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), must do everything possible to achieve its goal of regaining power in 2019.
He made the statement this morning on his official Twitter handle following yesterday’s inauguration of the Presidential Campaign Council for the election of his party’s presidential candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
Saraki described Atiku as a man “who who has never been more ready in his life” and that his party must work towards achieving the common goal of selling his mandate to Nigerians.
The full statement:
“Yesterday, our PDP Chairman Prince Uche Secondus, inaugurated the Presidential Campaign Council for the election of Alhaji Atiku Abubakar as the next President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
“The task before us is of the utmost importance, and we must take it very seriously indeed. We must devote every waking moment to the goal of putting PDP back into government come February 2019.
“History is calling to us; we must not fail. We must see ourselves as soldiers with a common goal, and that is to #GetNigeriaWorkingAgain by selling the PDP mandate and our Presidential Candidate, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar, who has never been more ready in his life.”
