The shortlist for the 2018 African Footballer of the Year award has been reduced to three, with Salah, Mane, and Aubameyang making the final cut.
The Confederation of African Football (CAF), earlier today, made the announcement, and Arsenal and Super Eagles star Alex Iwobi has missed out.
Salah and Mane have had a stellar 2018 for EPL table-topping Liverpool, while Aubameyang hasn’t stopped scoring for Arsenal since he joined the London club last January.
The decision to select Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane was made by votes from the members of the CAF Media Committee, CAF Technical & Development Committee and half of the 20-member panel of experts.
In a related development, Iwobi’s female national team counterparts Azizat Oshoala and Francesca Ordega made the final three shortlist for CAF women.
