Atiku Abubakar, Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, and Senate President Bukola Saraki have arrived Washington DC, USA.
Ahead of the February 2019 presidential elections, the former vice-president appears to have laid to rest one of the most embarrassing and notorious issues surrounding his suitability for the office of the president of Nigeria – that his inability to visit the US was based on the lingering fear he would be arrested, based on corruption and fraud allegations.
Atiku, in a tweet posted at about 830 pm, Thursday, 17th January, 2019, announced his arrival with a picture that included Saraki.
In the accompanying caption, he said:
“Just arrived Washington D.C for meeting with US government officials, Nigerians living in D.C metropolis and the business community.”
