Following the announcement of the imminent departure of Sven Mislintat, Arsenal’s Head of Recruitment, the gunners are working harder than ever to appoint a technical director, and that looks very likely to be AS Roma’s Monchi (Ramon Verdejo).
Mislintat has so far proved himself at Arsenal, with the signings of Aubameyang, Sokratis etc., therefore, the club is determined to hire a technical director who is equally as good in spotting talent and securing bargains for Arsenal.
According to the Independent, Arsenal consulted Emery for his input in the search for the technical director and he put forward Monchi, who he had worked with previously at Sevilla.
In addition, they claim that Roma is already bracing up for Monchi’s departure, in spite of the fact that he has over two years left on the contract he signed after joining from Sevilla in April 2017.
Monchi is credited with taking Barcelona superstar Ivan Rakitic to Sevilla, before his eventual transfer to the Nou Camp.
