Arsenal has made an approach to sign Ivan Perisic from Inter Milan.
The London club is looking to bring in Perisic on loan before the January transfer window closes in less than a week.
According to BBC’s David Ornstein, Perisic, who was denied a move to Manchester United last summer, despite the Manchester club making a decent bid of about £40m, is now much more open to leaving San Siro.
Ornstein, a very reliable source for Arsenal scoops, adds that, in spite of the new contract the Croatian signed after the failed move to United, Inter Milan, too, is also now willing to listen to offers of the same £40m or slightly less for him.
Arsenal have made an approach to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic. #AFC want loan with £35m option to buy. 29yo open to #Inter exit. Fits plan of versatile midfielder e.g. Suarez (still possible) / Nkunku + winger. Unclear if injuries mean defender wanted but Sokratis not bad

Arsenal Coach Unai Emery has made no secret of his desire to sign a proven winger this January and it is thought that Perisic fits the bill, especially if Arsenal is not able to tie-up the Denis Suarez deal with Barcelona before the window closes in a few days.
However, just like the Suarez offer made to Barcelona, Arsenal is also making a proposition of first taking Perisic on loan for now, with an option to make a permanent purchase in the summer.
Ivan Perisic was one of the stars of the 2018 World Cup for Croatia.
