Abudu shocked at what happened to 'Africa's best airline'

Following the tragic news of the Ethiopian Airlines jet crash that claimed the lives of all 157 people on-board yesterday morning, including two prominent Nigerians, media magnate Mo Abudu has expressed shock, noting that the Airline was one of Africa’s best and that the ill-fated aircraft was only four months old.

In an Instagram post this morning, she described the company as “one we can all be proud of”, before offering her condolences to the families and associates of all those who lost their lives.

Ethiopian Airlines is one of the best run airlines in Africa. An airline that we can all be proud of. The crashed aircraft was a brand new, 4 month old Boeing 737!!! 6 minutes into take off, the pilot detected a fault. Only God knows what happened. My heart and soul goes out to the management of Ethiopian Airlines because they don’t deserve this!!

They worked hard at being the best on the continent. They invested in the best people and equipment. Most importantly, my heart goes out to the families and friends of all those that lost loved ones.

We must never give up on our struggle to make our continent great in all sectors and endeavours.

The two Nigerians whose lives were lost are Nigerian-born Canadian professor, social-media influencer and writer, Pius Adesanmi, and Ambassador Abiodun Bashua, a former Joint Special Representative for the African Union-United Nations Hybrid Operation in Darfur, Sudan.
