The legendary status of Nigerian Afropop star Innocent ‘2Baba’ Idibia continues to soar, as the Department of Music, Faculty of Arts of Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU) is set to confer on him the award of the fellow of school of music. 

2Baba, as he prefers to be called these days, shared the  good news on his social media accounts – Twitter and Instagram.

He also disclosed that he will be delivering a lecture at the award ceremony, and judging from the event flier that accompanied his post, the title of the lecture is:
TWO DECADES OF AFRO-POP IN NIGERIA: THE PERSPECTIVE OF 2BABA.

2Baba said:



The great people of OAU will, on Wednesday, confer on me the award of the fellow of music.

I will also be delivering a public lecture.

Industry meets Academia.

Grateful for the honour.

Further information on the post’s flier reveals that it is open to the general public and will take place on Wednesday the 20th of March, 2019, 10 am at the Oduduwa Hall.
