Resound NG reported a few days ago that 2Baba was to visit the Obafemi Awolowo University (OAU), Ile-Ife, in Osun State, to receive an award, yesterday, from the Faculty of Music, and to also deliver a lecture.
Apparently, the veteran singer decided, wisely, that his visit to the ancient cradle of the Yoruba people would not be complete without paying homage to the town’s monarch – Ooni of Ife, His Royal Majesty, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi.
2Baba, in the company of his wife, Annie, and other members of his entourage, sang one of his hit songs from the Grass2Grace album – See Me So – to the delight of the king.
When he got to a part of the song that contained a swear word, conscious that he was in front of the Ooni, TuBaba had to quickly self-censor that part – an act which brought a wry smile to the king’s face.
Before the rendition, the Ooni asked all those present to thank Annie for taking care of 2Baba.
…And help me say thank you for taking care of 2Baba, also known as 2Bobo
