Nigeria national team now 42nd in the world

Nigeria’s national male football team, the Super Eagles, has moved up four places in the latest ranking of national soccer teams released by FIFA.

Nigeria is now ranked the 42nd best national team in the world – making a significant leap from its previous position of 46th.

This improvement, without doubt, can be linked to the Super Eagles’ impressive showings so far in 2019, where they beat Seychelles 3-1 in the final round of qualifying matches for the 2019 Africa Cup of nations and later defeated Egypt by one goal to nil in an international friendly.

Consequently, the Nigerian national team remains the third best team in Africa, behind Senegal, who are ranked 23rd in the world, and Tunisia, who are ranked 28th in the world.
