In what would be a highly unwelcome, if not damn right risky, move, Instagram is rumoured to be contemplating not showing the number of counts on images anymore – where only the poster of the image will be able to see the Like Count.
The feature was snooped out by a Twitter user, Jane Manchun Wong, described by the CNN as one “who spends her free time reverse engineering popular apps like Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Airbnb and others, to find new features.”
Instagram is testing hiding like count from audiences,
as stated in the app: “We want your followers to focus on what you share, not how many likes your posts get” pic.twitter.com/MN7woHowVN

However, according to The Verge, Instagram has denied testing any such feature:
We’re not testing this at the moment, but exploring ways to reduce pressure on Instagram is something we’re always thinking about.
